To Backup your site with Softaculous

Softaculous is widely used in the Web Hosting sites and it has helped millions of users install applications by the click of a button. Softaculous Installer easily integrates into leading Control Panels like cPanel, Plesk, DirectAdmin, InterWorx, H-Sphere.

The website you want softaculous to always backup must have been installed previously by Softaculous.

In this article, I will walk us through the process of taking backups of websites. Follow the steps and back up your site.

Step 1 : Login to cPane.

Step 2 : In Software/Services Section, click on Softaculous link.

Step 3 : Then click on All installation menu icon.

Step 4 : In the option column, click the backup icon.

Step 5 : Under Backup Installation, check either or both boxes to the right of Backup Directory and Backup Database.

Step 6 : Click the Backup Installation button at the bottom of the page.

In few seconds, When the backup is completed, you’ll see the following message:

The backup was created successfully.

How to change URL of Joomla site

To change URL of Joomla site. In This article will be explaining how to do it in easy and quick way. Sometimes it is necessary to change the domain name for a website and change to a configuration file and possibly your database. These two tasks are both discussed in below. The follow the steps for changing your Joomla website URL.

Tasks No. 1 : To modifying the Domain Name for Your Joomla Website

Step 1 : Start with Login to your cPanel.

Step 2 : Go to the File Manager or FTP client.

Step 3 : Locate the installation files for your Joomla files.

Step 4 : Search for the root folder of your Joomla installation.

Step 5 : Then Open file configuration.php for editing.

Step 6 : Locate the following line which defines website URL

public $live_site=’domain_name.com’

Step 7 : Replace domain.com with new domain name.

public $live_site=’new_domain_name.com’;

Step 8 : Then Save the file to apply the changes.

Tasks No 2. : To change the Database Settings of Your Joomla Installation

Step 1 : Login to your cPanel.

Step 2 : In the Databases section Click on phpMyAdmin.

Step 3 : Select your Joomla database.

Step 4 : Then click on Export in the top menu.

Note : The exported format will be SQL (e.g. filename.sql)

Step 5 : Save the resulting SQL file to your local hard drive.

Step 6 : Then open the SQL file in a Text Editor.

Step 7 : Find and Replace all of your old URLs with the new one.

Step 8 : Then save the SQL file.

Step 9 : Go back to phpMyAdmin.

Step 10 : Then Import your updated SQL file back in as the Same Joomla database.

After the importing is completed, you should be able to visit your Joomla site with the new domain. Here is how easy and fast we can change Joomla website URL just by editing it’s configuration file.

How to Update Your cPanel License Key

In this Article I will explain how to update cPanel License key of a server. If you need to update your server license key when you have a new licence key, or you want to upgrade from trail version to paid version. Please follow the instruction and update cPanel License key.

Open your “putty program”.
Log in as “root”.
Enter your password.
And run the following at the command line:

/usr/local/cpanel/cpkeyclt

Note : If you just want to update cPanel, run:

/scripts/upcp

That’s it !! This will update it and your good to go

How to install WHMCS from Softaculous

In this article Hostripples will give you how to install WHMCS from Softaculous, Please follow the steps and install it :

Step 1 : Log in to cPanel.

Step 2 : Click Softaculous in the Software/Services section.

Step 3 : In the Search text box, type whmcs.

Step 4 : Then press ENTER.

Step 5 : Click Install button.

Step 6 : Select the protocol in Choose Protocol list box.

Step 7 : Select the domain for installation.

Step 8 : Type the directory where you want to install the application.

Step 9 : Type the directory where you want to store application data.

Step 10 : Type the name of the database to create for the application.

Step 12 : Type the cron job intervals in CRON Job text boxes.

Step 13 : Type the name of the company.

Step 14 : Type the directory for the administration interface in Admin Folder text box.

Step 15 : Type the company e-mail address.

Step 16 : Now type your WHMCS license key in Valid License Key text box.

Step 17 : Type the administrator username.

Step 18 : Type the administrator password.

Step 19 : Type the administrator’s first name.

Step 20 : Type the administrator’s last name.

Step 21 : Type the site administrator e-mail address.

Step 22 : Select the language for the administration interface.

Step 23 : Select the language for the site.

Step 24 : Click the Advanced Options icon to expand Advanced Options.

Step 25 : If you do not want to receive e-mail notifications when application updates are available, select the Disable Update Notifications check box.

Step 26 : To receive site configuration information after the installation is complete, type an e-mail address in the Email installation details to text box.

Step 27 : Review the installation options and settings, and then click Install.

When installation is complete, Softaculous provides information about the application’s configuration.

How to install Joomla from Softaculous

Softaculous is a software that allows for the installation of Joomla with easy. Using the Softaculous software you can install Joomla on any domain or domain sub-directory. In this article you will find on how to use Softaculous to install a Joomla 3 application on your hosting account.

Please follow the steps by steps:

Step 1 : Log into your cPanel Account.

Step 2 : Under Software/Services section, Click on Softaculous.

Step 3 : Find Joomla script.

Step 4 : Click on Install button in order to start the Joomla 3 setup process.

Step 5 : Select Joomla 3 from the drop-down menu.

Step 6 : Choose the installation folder for the new application.

Step 7 : Leave empty if you want Joomla 3 to be installed in the root directory of your account.

Step 8 : Select administrative Username.

Step 9 : Select administrative Password.

Step 10 : Select administrative E-mail Address.

Note : It is important to provide correct email address because it will be used in case you forget your password or want to reset it.

Step 11 : Press the Install button to complete the installation.

In a few seconds, your Joomla 3 application will be installed and ready to use.

Step 1 : Log in to cPanel.

Step 6 : Choose Protocol list box : – Select the protocol.

Step 15 : Real Name text box : – Type the display name for the administrator.

Follow the steps by steps instruction and install Nucleus.

Step 1 : Click on My cPanel.

Step 2 : Under Software/Services section, select Softaculous.

Step 3 : Under Blogs section, select Nucleus.

Step 4 : Click the Install button.

Then, Configure the Software Setup.

Step 1 : If your site has SSL, then choose the HTTPS protocol – if not, either HTTP option will work.

Step 2 : Select the Domain on which you wish to install Nucleus.

Step 3 : Leave this blank to install into the root directory of the above domain name.

Note: If you have other software/scripts installed on this domain’s root directory, make sure you create a new folder and specify its name in this field to complete the installation. If you don’t, you will overwrite existing installations.

Step 4 : Create a Database Name.

Then, Configure the Site Settings.

Step 1 : Choose any name for your new site.

Step 2 : Choose a short name for your new site.

Then, Configure the Database Settings.

Step 1 : Create a Table Prefix.

Then, Configure the Admin Account.

Step 1 : Choose a new username.

Step 2 : Choose a new password. Ensure you record it for future use.

Note : Choose a secure password to ensure the safety of your account.

Step 3 :Choosing an alternate email.

Step 4 :Click on the plus sign beside Advanced Options

leave the Email installation details to field blank. Should you wish to have them sent to another email address.

Step 5 : Enter it.

Then, Click Install.

How to open alternate SMTP port 26 on Plesk server

Step 1 : Create a new entry for the alternate port in xinetd by using following command:

# cd /etc/xinetd.d

# cp smtp_psa smtp_psa_p26

Step 2 : The entry that was just created needs to be modified smtp_psa_p26 by using following command:

# vi smtp_psa_p26

Step 3 : Edit the first line of the file as

“service smtp_p26”

Step 4 : Save the file.

Step 5 : Next, edit the service to include the newly created one by using following command:

# vi /etc/services

Step 6 : Add the following entry:

smtp_p26 26/tcp mail
smtp_p26 26/udp mail

Step 7 : After editing this, just restart xinetd by using following command:

# service xinetd restart

Step 8 : Now, the server should be listening on port 26. A quick way to verify the changes took effect can be done using this command:

# netstat -lpn|grep 26

Don’t forget to make sure port 26 is open in the firewall.
